The government of the Philippines just announce that July 27 is a special day for Iglesia ni Cristo members because it would be named as “Iglesia ni Cristo Day”. This is the first time that I have heard of a religious sect having a special day on all over the Philippines.
I think that most Iglesia ni Cristo would be disappointed that that day is a working holiday. Aside from being the first holiday for a religious sect, this is also the first holiday where employee would be force to work.
Still this is a great day for Iglesia ni Cristo.
it’s not the first time in the Philippines….
The Philippine government declared already the Catholic holidays as non working holiday like Christmas, Holy week, Fiestas of Saints and others. Catholic do not celebrate its anniversary, so there’s no reason for the government to set a day as “Catholics day!”
Muslim’s Ramadan was made non-working holiday.
Now, since INC celebrates its anniversary only (no Fiestas, no Holy Week, no Christmas, etc) so there’s no other choices for the government to declare holiday in favor of the INCs.
I am not aware that there is a “Catholic day”. To think that I am a catholic.
i think, my comment above is clear. Holidays like Fiestas, Christmas and Holy Week are all Catholic Days. There’s no need for a government to declare a day which would be called “Catholic Day” since almost all the Catholic Festivals are already made non-working holidays by the government.
1st time??? hahha, kakatawa… tama si selboy, hindi un first time….
