My first sale

Just got my first sale of a domain which I have been holding for 11 months, actually I wasn’t really planning on selling the domain because I was going develop it into a review site for gadgets. I got one review but never did have the time to pursue it so I decided to put it into autopilot. Most of the back links are coming from digitalpoint.

This is not the first time I tried to sell it since it was up for renewal next month. I tried to sell it as a site on autopilot but it seems that no one is really interested on it. A few weeks past and I become really desperate on selling it so I auction it as a domain for just a starting bid of $5. To make the story shot the amount increases from one bid to another. It reaches $14 and I decided to sell it at that price. So I was ready to close the deal but when the buyer known that it was registered on name.com he suddenly back out. Good thing that I opened it again and then someone has put a BIN on it.

For the past months I really thought that selling domain where such a hard thing that I don’t even wan to bother with it. Now that I have experience my first sale I am thinking that I am going to pursue it. Never really know how profitable domain selling is until today.

This proves that you will never gain something if you aren’t going to get out of your comfort zone.  In my case my comfort zone is blogging and today I have ventured into another means of making money online.

  2. Hi,

Congrats to your sale. I also sell domains through Namepros. But I think the best thing to do to really earn from your domain names, is to sell them to end-users – those are the ones who really need a particular domain.

I don’t know who is that guy since we are only using an alias on digitalpoint.

actually $20 is not a great price , i think you can sell higher price if you have a higher page rank

Congratulations on making your first sale. No matter how it’s still your first attempt and I think it’s kinda cool to achieve something out of own efforts. Hope you’ll get better opportunities in coming sales. All the best.
